This was a side project from 2009 when I was desperate to create a handheld GPS. This video shows the "user interface".
The cursor is moved with two cheap rotary encoders with built in buttons. The right button changes between solid and dotted line, the left one clears the display.
I don't remember much but it can be clearly seen on the video that the display is a KS0108 unit and the microcontroller is an ATmega32.
